Closures
The Cathedral plays an active role in the community and is used regularly for local, regional and/or national services and events. This inevitably leads to restrictions on general visiting. Below is a list of forthcoming closures.
Cathedral Closures
Sunday 18th July
Nave remains closed after after Eucharist Service until 13.30 hrs for Furniture moving. Quire and the Crypt open via the South Door
Monday 19th July Until September (most days)
Visiting choir closures Centre Quire closes early for music rehearsals
Friday 23rd July
Nave (including Transepts) will be closed from 13.30 hrs until 15:45 hrs for Simon Langton Girls Commemoration Service. Access to Quire, Trinity and the Crypt via the North side
Saturday 24th July
Centre Quire will be closed from 11.15 hrs for the rest of the day for Rehearsals, Wedding and then Choral Evensong
Quire Aisles and Trinity Chapel will be closed from 12.00 hrs until 16.15 hrs for Rehearsals, Wedding and then Choral Evensong
Saturday 7th August
The Crypt will be closed until 10.00 for Saturday Matins
The Crypt will be closed from 11.30 hrs until 14.30 hrs for a wedding
Saturday 14st August
The Crypt will be closed from 11.30 hrs until 14.30 hrs for a Wedding
Chapter House will be closed all day
Saturday 21st August
The Crypt will be closed from 12.15 hrs until 14.45 hrs for a wedding (overlap, Quire and Crypt will closed at the same time for approximately 15-20 minutes)
Monday 30th August
The Crypt will be closed until 10.00 hrs for the Bank Holiday Matins
To avoid disappointment please always confirm closures before travelling
Please note that the east end of the Cathedral, including the Quire, will close everyday in preparation for Evensong from 16.30 (Monday-Friday) and from 14.30 (Saturday and Sunday).
