A FRIENDLY TALK
Ostend – it’s more than just fish and flip flops with Melanie Gibson-Barton
Thursday 10 April, 10:30-11:30 in the Clagett Auditorium
Melanie Gibson-Barton, one of our most popular speakers, will return to speak about Ostend, a coastal city that combines the grandeur of the Belle Époque with the artistic flair of the Flemish artist James Ensor and his many successors. Ostend’s heritage is as a fishing community.
Melanie will offer Friends an insider view of the history this popular city by the Sea to explore sandcastles, ferries, royalty, artists,
architecture, wars, and herring.
Tickets: £10 Friends of Canterbury Cathedral, £15 non-members. Includes tea and coffee.
This event is supported by The Friends of Canterbury Cathedral (Registered Charity No 1210093).
