Celebrating 10 years of our girl choristers
This Sunday (28 January) during Evensong, we will celebrate the 10th anniversary of girl choristers in the Cathedral Choir, with the world premiere of a new anthem by distinguished composer, and former Canterbury chorister, Gabriel Jackson.
Many of our girl choristers from the past decade will be attending to take part in the service, so please join us – in person or live online - to help celebrate.
The girl choristers have recently sung in a candlelit performance of Handel’s Messiah, which completely sold out in November 2023, and have also taken part in a highly-acclaimed recording of Chandos Anthems by Pepusch.
A clip of the first-ever Evensong sung by our girl choristers can be seen in the BBC’s 2014 documentary, A Year in the Life of Canterbury Cathedral.
Girl Chorister auditions
The next round of auditions for girl choristers will take place during the summer of 2024. These will be for girls looking to join our choir when they begin year 8 in September 2024. Keep an eye on our website and socials for updates.
